Sorry that my previous post was misinterpreted!! I only mentioned Metis CFS because it was in the paper/in the news, to demostrate that the money is coming out of public coffers anyways because the government is in fact the guardian.
But really, just the fact that the kid was in CFS care (regardless of which agency) would, unfortunately, strongly suggest that the kid was aboriginal. It doesn't make it for sure, but so often we hear in the news that aboriginal kids make up the majority of kids in care, disproportionately so. Most people would make that leap I think. Again, not making it about race, just the details, as released by the media, does tend to point in that direction. I admit it might be bias on my part.
Anyway, regardless of who this kid is, I hope he can get the help he needs while he's still young. I hate the thought that his trajectory is somehow set to be in and out of jail for the rest of his life.
