I was wondering where I could donate a bunch of used items. I have given my things to value village in the past but I feel like I could be donating to a more impactful and meaningful place, so please don’t suggest value village. I’ve got a lot of high end women’s clothing and beauty products to give, so I was hoping the items could go to someone who needs it or will truly appreciate it.  
 
Any suggestions?

If you have high-end clothing and stuff to give, maybe see if Samaritan House or the YWCA wants them? I could see that some good clothing etc would go a long way to a woman looking for work who otherwise wouldn't have anything nice to wear to an interview, etc.

I would suggest donating to either the MCC or the Nearly New shop. I doubt they would take the beauty products (are they unopened?) but the proceeds from the sale of the clothing will help relief efforts and support local job development for people getting back on their feet (MCC) or support our local hospital (Nearly New). Both are great causes.

Samaritan house is not taking donations right now, they are doing a major clean.  
 
I volunteer at MCC Thrift Shop, so we got a letter that they are not taking donation and sending people elsewhere.  
 
MCC would easily take your donations and now have a volunteer that helps you to bring your items in.

How about the Women's shelter?

And beauty products can go to the 7th Street Access centre. I had tons of motel sized bottles and wrapped soaps and they appreciated them. I guess they have showers for people who need them and can use shampoo and stuff.  
In Winnipeg there is s program that gives work/interview clothes to people who need. I think there is a similar program here, but have no idea who might run it. My aunt recently passed away and we donated all her beautiful high end office clothes to them.  
Makes you feel better when your donation goes to people who truly need it and not to a for profit company who's CEO is one if the highest grossers in the salary world.
