There is only one Manitoba charity on that Top 10 list. And while that list is great, it does not take small local charities into account (some of which don't have a charitable number for tax receipts).
I have a soft spot for animals, so I like to give donations to animal rescues in the area.

Salvation Army to give to this year. So sad that their kettles couldn't be set up this year. But they had a drive thru at the rear of their building at First and Princess that we were able to donate to.

I mailed them a cheque earlier in the month. I also have a soft spot for animals stuck in kennels.
