What are you putting in your school age children's stockings? Seems every year it's the same thing so I'm wondering what others are doing?

My kids have BIG Stockings so - Books, socks (got WPG Jets ones), new pajamas (theme they like), their favorite treat. A classic toy like a yoyo. Depending on age - a Gift card, jewelry, nail polish, small toy tractors.  
 
I have heard some people are doing a stocking for Christmas Eve that has new PJ's - a movie or game- and popcorn for a fun filled family evening.  
 
I like to make sure they get the big 4  
1. Something to read  
2. Something they need  
3. Something they want  
4. Something to wear

chocolate, nuts and an orange and when kids were little a movie or game so i could sleep in a bit lol

a mini breakfast.... A juice box, an orange, an individual box of cereal a small bit of chocolate and a mini deck of cards or a small joke book or question books.  
 
In our house kids can get up when ever and open their stocking, eat or play with that stuff.  
 
This lets the adults get up and get at least a coffee started before the presents are opened.

Socks, underwear, toothbrush, bubble bath/shampoo/ bath paint etc, lip balm, book, candy....I have little kids so also have a little stuffed animal, hot wheels, kaleidoscope, magnetic hour glass.  
 
I always put some stuff they need and some fun stuff.  
 
Christmas Eve they open one present which is pjs.

hair clips, barrettes, etc. (cheap at dollar store)

candy cane  
 
plastic toys (lots for boys at Dollorama)

For the older kids and teens we like to go to 7-11 and get a booklet of coupons for free slurpees then we give each of them one, a movie gift card, then usually junk food or gum, the little tea balls for our tea party lover, books and bath stuff. For the younger kids we do some coloring or craft supplies, fun glow in the dark wands, little matchbox cars or jewelery. Then everyone gets the necessary underwear and socks!

I fill my Dad's stocking: he fills out stockings still for us kids and we are in our thirties! I purchase some lottery tickets, hearing aid batteries, toothbrush, toothpaste, cologne, aftershave, razors, chocolates etc.

When I was a kid, the stocking stuffers were things I needed. Shampoo, soap, new tooth brush, etc. Mom still fills the stockings for us now as adults and puts shower gel, new razor blades, shaving cream, deodorant, etc. If all else fails, oranges and chocolate. Lol
