So, I have a good news and a bad news. The good news is that there’s no more creepiness in Brandon, as I moved to a new city for a new job. The bad news is I’m still an active member in eBrandon and I’m not planning to quit. Sorry eh!
On a serious note, I just want to take this opportunity to thank you all Brandonites so much for being nice to me during my 10 months stay there. I tend to offend people easily, but unintentionally with my silly lines. However, I was really impressed when I found Brandonites being sportive and dissed me back. I have mentioned here earlier and I will say it again, Brandon is definitely NOT a cliquey city.
As a quick note to newcomers in Brandon, just try any/all of the following and you will end up with ton of friends in no time:
1) YMCA - The best! It’s like one big family and the best crew ever.
2) School - Join an evening course of your interest in BU or ACC. Trust me, you’ll never regret.
3) Some kind of group activity - I joined in Cross-fit at Crossfit Rocked on the 6th. To be honest, I felt like I walked into the sets of Duck Dynasty at first, but they are very welcoming and genuinely open.
4) Volunteer - Organizations like BBBS/Sunset Rotary club needs us. Symbiosis at its best!
5) Art gallery - Variety of options to learn and meet.
6) eBrandon - One-stop shop for chats/meetups.
7) Smile and make a small talk - It works like charm
On a final note, I owe Brandonites a big one and I think it’s the perfect time of the year for payback. So, could you please suggest me an organization in Brandon that can use some $$ for Christmas? My preference is for kids/seniors/women/natives.
Merci beaucoup Brandon
