It seems to be that Ivan Provorov has made it to the "big time". He's done all that he can do in junior and has made it to the NHL. After winning numerous awards, including the MVP as the CHL's best defenceman - he now faces the challenges as a professional hockey player. In a way, he does "go out on top", besides being a member of the WHL champion - Brandon Wheat Kings. He now joins former Wheat King's Brayden Schenn and Ron Hextal (Flyers GM)

I honestly thought that Ivan Provorov would be back with the Wheatkings. But with the injury to Del Zotto it might be a blessing for Provorov.  
I'm thinking Philly still needs to decide what their going to do after Provorov plays his ninth game.  
I also thought that Provorov is too young to be sent to the AHL.  
Oh boy i'm dreaming Brandon needs another top end defenceman. plus what happened to those two American brothers? heard they liked their booze. who really knows.

According to the Flyers website, Hextall plans to keep him up for the entire season. Yes, they do have the option to send Provorov back to his junior team after 9 games. However, the Flyers feel that he has much to offer at the NHL level "Now and not tomorrow". Last year, Hextall did send Provorov back to Brandon - and said. " be the best defenceman you can be and we'll see what happens next year?"  
Mission accomplished.  
 
GM Ron Hextall confirmed that 19-year-0ld prospects Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny were on the team.  
 
"Those kids, they made the team on their own," Hextall said. "These kids made the team on merit. Our plan is to keep them the whole year. This isn't a nine-game trial, those kids are on this team right now and at this point we expect them to be here all year."  
 
"That's what you work for, 14 years of hockey," Provorov said. "It's kind of the end of one road and the start of a new one."

I for one will miss seeing you on the ice at WK games, but I wish you all the best in the NHL. You have worked hard for this and been a stand up role model for many young people who watch the WHL.

Provorov has chosen No. 9, which might just be the most bad ass number in hockey. You know, Gordie Howe and Maurice Richard and everything. It’s been Provorov’s number throughout his junior career and has been worn by 18 members of the Flyers, including Steve Downie in 2015, Scottie Upshall from 2007-09, Patrick Sharp from 2004-06 and Bob Kelly from 1971-80.  
 
Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov are members of the Philadelphia Flyers, and with that, they now have new jersey numbers.  
 
Konecny was assigned No. 63 for training camp, while Provorov was assigned 64. Those are numbers given to rookies who are not expected to make the team, and yet ... here they are, ready to go on Friday against the Los Angeles Kings.
