Does anyone else find it frustrating that people still send time in the car wash wiping it dry when they could do it outside? Also, you think people would figure out that unless you get up close to it won't know that you are there. So everyone has to wait until either someone tells them or they eventually clue in.

They actually have it posted around the car wash "if the sun is shining shamois outside".  
 
Maybe just politely remind people of that or bring it to the attention of the person attending the car wash?  
 
If by chance this isn't the business in question, I would still talk to someone who runs the car wash about the issue.  
 
We all like to air out frustrations, but if it's not done to the appropriate people, nothing is going to change.

Don’t have this problem at Giant Car Wash!!  
You pay for your time, so, drying outside would save you some bucks!, AND, the soap brushes dispense LOTS of soap!! Just saying!!

Those towels are extremely dirty and full on small fine sand. Not sure why a person would use them to begin with. A very good way to scratch up your car. IMO glacier should just removed them.

I am lazy so I have never dried my vehicles by hand. I just drive off. What is the benefit of drying it? (Probably a dumb question but I’m curious lol)

of drying with a chamois is that no matter what after a wash there is still a film on the paint and using a chamois will remove this for a nicer shine. Also water leaves marks when it drys so you get that either.

Chamois aren't that expensive, less then $20 at Canadian Tire.  
 
When its dry and not humidity in the air, one is better off drying off the vehicle inside esp. if the vehicle hasn't been washed in a while or one has been driving in the gravel.  
 
I guess one could use the touchless at Co-op then you will still have to dry the vehicle a bit.

I go at 7am to wash mine and dry it and wipe down the door frames and wipe the dash. Never a line up at that time.
