What is it specifically are you looking for? Is it knowing math facts, or math comprehension? Or a little of both?
I have no experience with either the Kumon or Archimedes programs, but I do know there''s a math program out there called Life of Fred, created by Dr. Stanley Schmidt. It''s a series of books starting with Apples (followed by Butterflies, Cats, Dogs, Edgewood, etc) that tells a humourous story while it teaches math. Each chapter has problems to solve at the end.
I have used the program homeschooling, and I found it very effective for teaching math concepts and how to apply math to real life. I actually learned a lot from it even at the very elementary books (Apples, Butterflies) of how to process math concepts. My kids really liked them I had to put limits on how many chapters they did a day (typically only 1) otherwise they''d devour a whole book in one sitting (which the author recommends you DON''T do).
Maybe something like that will help? They can be ordered for $25/book plus shipping through Heritage Homeschool Resources out of Morden (no shipping if you pick up).
