Just a heads up. I got back from the lake about an hour ago. I was hoping to get a little bit of fishing in. The lake is so low right now that you cannot launch a boat at any of the docks. I checked.  
Apparently, they lowered the water level in order to inspect the dam to make sure it’s still safe and not about to break.

We pulled the Rivers Game and Fish dock out on the weekend. That water was so low that the dock wasn't even in the water anymore. Shitty thing is the good fall fishing is coming up and very few will be able to take advantage. North or East I go.

That’s where we go fishing too. 20 minutes from Brandon and a good sized lake. Any suggestions on where to go now?

If the lake and fishery at Lake Wahtopanah get a break from us during the fall season. just saying...

We have an excellent fishing and recreation lake right at our doorstep. The lake can handle the fishing and boating pleasure. The thing that all lakes need is constant water circulation. We need rain in moderation and in repetitive frequency. The lakes go green from no water coming in and going out. As a member of the Rivers Game and Fish we do stocking and have a lot to do with the lake other than control levels. Rivers is a structure lake. It isn't a 8 foot deep lake where you drag a hook behind your boat and catch fish. Rivers will test any experienced angler. You’ve been the one posting “too bad” for the citizens of grand valley by saying the plug should be permanent. And now, in a very direct way, this plug is cutting into your hobby.  
 
The lake wouldn’t be low if the plug was gone and the dam was inspected.

Guess you’ll have to go somewhere else.  
 
Maybe they should permanently keep the lake low. For safety purposes.

I am glad you are getting a chuckle over whatever floats your boat. Honestly I don't care if the lake is low or not. I have been fishing elsewhere. I am not crying and complaining that I have to drive to other lakes and should be compensated for wear and tear hauling my boat extra miles and using more gas. If the lake stayed low modifications would be made to get boat access. Long term solutions would be worked out.  
Oh and the plug thread. I offered a solution and even you said "If the roads were paved, I think people would be more accepting of the additional drive." Laugh at me what you want, don't hurt my feelings.
