I’m pondering the idea of a virtual job - I se so many advertisements on such but I’d like to hear from locals on what is a reliable - tried & true local virtual job (not a scam).  
Any suggestions as to who is hiring such, would be greatly appreciated!

There are actually a lot hiring across the country. Shopify and PayPal both hire virtual jobs across Canada, also a lot of places that sell insurance as well as travel agencies. Your best bet is expanding your search outside of Brandon and even Manitoba.  
 
Depending on your education and skill set you could easily find something with something mentioned above.  
 
I started my own virtual assistant business back in 2012 and I do many things for about 23 businesses across North America - everything from website updates, social media management, chat/email customer service, managing AR/AP, data entry, travel scheduling/booking.

This is VERY helpful! I see all sorts of opportunities for such jobs but a person doesn’t know if they’re scams or the pyramid type! I want a good honest paying job - obviously that I will have to earn my pay for! I live in a small town and jobs are scarce and the travelling to bigger centres is just too costly!

Would love to know more also about online work.

Do you have any recommendations on where to search for reputable virtual jobs? Gearing towards Data Entry, AR/AP type!  
I’m hesitant on giving my SIN & personal info to just any online business without knowing some background or experiences with them prior!

I look at InDeed and Linkdin.  
 
ways to tell if it is legit, google the business. does it have a Glassdoor profile where employees can review the workplace, do they have a linkdin page, how does their website look, do they have reviews on Indeed. These are basic things but are the easiest ways to tell if it is a legit company.  
 
If you are looking at data entry, AR/AP kind of work I would look at accounting firms. Again, for my own business I do data entry for 1 accounting firm out of BC, as well as managing AP for 2 businesses in Ontario.  
Don't be afraid to apply and simply ASK if work from home/telework is available. You never know what someone will say.

Does anybody have experience with Shopify or other Ecommerce platforms with Dropshipping?  
I have great ideas but have no idea how to get started or if it’s worth it.
