What would you do if your toilet was not flushing and it's the middle of the night and you have to do the doo what places in Brandon are open late that would allow you to use their washrooms ?

where do you come up with this stuff.

Do the doo , shut the lid and Fix the toilet in the morning.

This is a real possible problem this is what happened I rent and the landlord did not get a plumber to fix the toilet and I'm totally being serious if I needed to use a washroom where would I need to go to find a place in Brandon that would be open to use washroom ?

Is the toilet plugged, or is there a problem in the tank that causes it to not work?  
 
Plugged toilet-i guess you could go to a gas station?  
 
If a tank issue, dump a pail of water in the bowl to flush it.

It is your landlords responsibility to ensure safe and livable conditions for tenants. Tell him/her to get it sorted ASAP. Toilets are not complicated to fix and your landlord has no excuse. A landlord worth their salt would have access to emergency tradesmen to deal immediately with issues such as this. There are 24 hr plumbers etc available.  
During this pandemic I’ll bet that you won’t find many washrooms open to the public and especially not in the night. You should not be placed in this position by your landlord.

Drop the deuce in the tank of toilet and deal with it next day.

Do you know if the landlord tried to contact a plumber? We had to wait 2 days for one last year.  
 
If the landlord is refusing to fix the problem, I would strongly recommend you contact the tenancy branch tomorrow morning. They'll help you

Try the west end 7-11, either of the open Tim Hortons(south end and on the Trans-Canada) or any of the gas stations at 18th and Trans-Canada.

Any truck stop

Be prepared just in case- just a suggestion in case of emergency or disaster  
Get back to the “old days “ get a sturdy pail on hand with lid or old toilet seat or ones those cheap plastic ones then line it with 2 good garbage bags and do your business in it and close the lid. Just like out in the woods we did this for our mom and grandparents all the time.  
Then deal with the pail in the morning.

Of course you shouldn’t need to do all that the landlord should get it fixed ASAP

Mac72, thank you for your post. I was starting to think I must be too country because that was my thought too...poo in a bag. I don’t want to be running to some gas station at 2 in the morning if I had to go LOL

Classic double decker scenario where you squat on top of the back tank and go. Best done for #1's as #2's can get messy when your toilet does start working and plugs the drain.
