The birds are harder to find as the lake is changing week by week.
On the South of the Lake the observation site at 123W is accessible but you have to walk ½ mile past the road block. I’m not sure how birdy that is with the lower water.
We had some luck recently on the West end. Starting at 15N and 132W and working our way North and East. Driving or walking the road allowance to the lake, you will probably find birds. 131W, 128W?, 126W (Sextons Point) and 124W can be good.
You end up on 20 N heading East, at 120N You can head South again and check out the East end, though you may have to hunt for water and passable roads.
I usually travel from Brandon via #1 and Hwy 21. There’s a few birdy spots on the way: Griswold marsh, Wetlands where Hwy 21 goes south from #2, and Chain Lakes.
Be aware that maps and even satellite images are outdated, due to the big variations in levels. Also, watch out for gopher holes - when walking or driving.
