Hi, I've been wanting to learn Mandarin for a while now but would like a little more help beyond my home study books. I think having an in person teacher would be very helpful for bettering my pronunciation.  
 
I'm not currently looking to learn the Chinese characters at the moment. I have a decent grasp of the Pinyin alphabet and I mostly would like to be taught basic conversational skills and correct pronunciation and then work my way up from there.  
 
Is there anyone in town that knows of where I could learn with a teacher? Thanks for reading.

The library does ( or did) have a e library program by which you could learn languages. Not as good as a personal teacher but better than books

Fellow mandarin learner here, I have been learning mandarin for the last three years, using a variety of apps. Duolingo is good, but the vocabulary is limited and you don't get to practice the characters. Falou is another good app that is good for conversation.  
 
I have also used the HSK apps, there is one for each level (1 - 5), and the HSK Study and Exam - SuperTest app which is fantastic for listening, reading, and writing.  
 
The biggest help for me however has been paying for language lessons with a company called Darling Mandarin, (https://www.darlingchinese.com/index/hsk.html ). the lessons are very well organized, and you learn at your own pace.
