I took the photo for my husbands PAL in our kitchen against a blank light coloured wall with my iPhone and uploaded it to the online application . No issues with it. Just follow the directions on the application.

I have had it done there in the past (right beside Pizza Hut on 18th) or as the above poster said, you can take it yourself with good lighting in front of a blank painted wall. I did this for my last renewal and there were no problems.

Did mine last month with a Iphone photo on a light colored wall.
No issues at all.

I took one at home and sent it in, but it was rejected. So I went and had a passport photo taken and sent it in, but haven't heard anything back since.

We also tooks ours in the kitchen with an iPhone against light coloured wall. No issues either time. Make sure you read the instructions carefully.

CAA does them. Doesn’t cost much, free if you have a membership too I believe

UPS store

The UPS store does passport pictures and can either print them out or send them to you digitally.
I've gone there and been really happy.

I think the requirements for PAL are slightly different than passport. You have to show shoulders in the PAL photo which it doesn’t appear you do for passports. (Depending on Country).
