You need to choose what to look for.

Social and mainstream media both have a big influence on how we see the world. And, they are both biased toward negativity, because that's what sells. They tell us to hate people we disagree with. And also, the big one: that everything bad happening is someone else's fault. We need to choose what we believe.
For the most part, people are good. I talk to customers on a daily basis that not only support my business but also make my day a little brighter just with the short conversations we have while they're here. There are a few people that choose to live in darkness and sometimes there isn't much you can do about it, other than try not to let their bad attitude affect you.
Very often, what seems like a bad person is just someone having a bad day. It's surprising how quickly a little kindness can turn that around and cause a ripple effect.
"The world is full of good people. If you can't find one, be one."
