I gave you very reasonable suggestions on to how you could direct your friend as to where to get the balance or a copy of their statement.
I totally get having a paper copy of the bill on ones hand. Don't get me wrong I have seen first hand with some elderly family who yes, online is not an answer.
Actually last summer because they like paying every thing by cheque and want the bill in their hand, got behind where they lost service to this. It was heartening and a pain for them to understand. This happened on several different bills for them.
With support family did help find a happy medium to this and got a lot of things set to preauthorized so they come out on their own and they still can receive their paper copies. But they now understand sometimes those bills come late as per Canada Post issues that have been ongoing. I do believe some of their bills family does help them online as well as needed.
And just a note: Shaw Direct does give an $8 discount per month for preauthorized payments.
