Does anyone know how Temu works? I've made two orders that I'm happy with. Now Temu is constantly emailing me that I have a "surprise" waiting for me, I have $110 dollars in credit, I have a special "gift", I have a 66% discount, my cart needs attention, did I forget something in my cart, and on and on. What is this about?

That’s just Temu marketing. They’re trying to get you back on the site to spend more money.

Exactly what Bassman said. it's a technique called remarketing, trying to re-engage previous customers. Sounds like they are super aggressive with it too. It's actually a super effective marketing strategy.

In the 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond, companies that manufactured those round cornered fridges in the 50's realized they had over engineered them and sales were sluggish so they came up with a new approach: planned obsolescence!  
The new marketing strategy in NA made appliances was to have things break after the warranty: but not 100 years down the road! Who still has one in their garage haha  
After buying 4 items at once from TEMU I learned a new strategy. They offer no warranty: so items needn't work on arrival, which in my case was correct except for the clothing.  
Having bit once, they now have access to your searches and you are at their mercy.  
"IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE - IT'S TEMU!"

I believe it is also referred to as Gorilla marketing, like Gorilla warfare.  
Now a days I understand the want and need for everyone to have more money in your pocket at the end of the day. But buying from Temu and others alike is bad. They offer poor quality stuff with no warranty or guarantee. Some of the stuff on their site would not be allowed in our country if they were imported properly, due to lead and other toxic materials. Their delivery drivers get paid by the piece and barely make enough to survive. That is why they are not polite and don't want to make more than one trip to deliver your stuff. If everyone buys stuff from there you are putting your local stores in danger because if thier profits go down there will be lay offs and more self check outs. It does nothing for the local economy. And that doesn't even touch on the poor labour practices in China or the environmental impact of the cardboard alone that online sites use. Insert smily arrow here. I admittedly ordered stuff from Temu in the past but the poor quality, poor service and learning the real costs I will never do it again.
