Why are Canadians so Complacent?

It would be good if we got off our collective asses once in a while and actually raised a stink over things that are not right instead of letting everything slide. Most say, what can we do, or pretend sitting in front of a computer somehow makes a difference.
Let's take gas prices or crime for instance. Nothing wrong with taking to the streets in rallies to get attention and let those who rely on our complacency know they've got some "'splainin" to do Lucy. Or do we think someone else will do it? If you think no one would listen, do you blame them?
What is the reason?
