Warranties are funny

Things really. When you buy something that has one you have sometimes a choice, a refund, repair or exchange depending on the item. Now you would think that if a product was under warranty when it was brand new so would the replacement because it is after all brand new. Not so… apparently the brand new replacement is only good for the duration of the time remaining on the original warranty. I mean it is the identical product (or newer, maybe improved depending on the time elapsed), made to last the same amount of time so why not have another warranty starting fresh. After all, you purchased the product with the expectation it would last at least the warranty period, it doesn’t so, a “brand new” warranty on the “brand new” replacement should be in order considering in some cases an installation fee is the purchasers responsibility. This mostly applies to larger items. This not the particular item I am referring to but I had once purchased an expensive coffee maker and not one but two of them broke down before the warranty was up. The first one lasted 10 months and the replacement lasted 4 months when I took the second one back I was told “If we keep replacing these coffeemakers you wouldn’t have to buy another on for the rest of your life” ( like I’m stupid to even think such a thing) so I was out of luck because the warranty didn’t apply for the rest of the remainder of the old warranty. Well I say if you make a product that keeps breaking down before the warranty is up, then you deserve to supply me with a brand new item for the rest of my life. Who is the stupid one here?
