Vehicle prices
11/27/2008 at 3:29 PM
as the topic of gas was out there, thought I would question the used vehicle market.
Why is it so much cheaper in Winnipeg, and why is it so hard to deal in Brandon. My last two vehicles have been bought in the Winnipeg area, as the prices were $1500 + cheaper.
An example right now: Saw a 2006 truck advertised at a local dealership for $21300....hubby is thinking that is a pretty good deal. I start snooping around the Winnipeg dealerships and come up with a 2006 truck with the EXACT same options, motor, etc. for $17900. Now there were two differences, one in Brandon is a "metallic", whereas the one in Winnipeg is just "red". Also the one in Brandon has 4000 less KM's on it. Granted we never inspected either one for dings, scratches, but you can bet a trip to Winnipeg would be in order for $3400 difference.
I would prefer to be able to deal locally on anything I buy, but that is an incredible difference. As it was when I purchased my last two vehicles.
