What is your regret?

I have been thinking of this thread for a little while … not sure if it will go over very well, but thought I would give it a try none-the-less.
What is a regret that you have in your life? This is one that maybe you can share so that someone else reading it here will not make have the same reason to feel sorry in their life.
My regret … shortly after I was married my dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer and died six months later. He was almost 80 (I was 24) and had lead a very interesting life. He was born in 1901 and was the youngest son of a horse trader. Before 1910 they had travelled extensively through western Manitoba and eastern Saskatchewan, often staying for days at a time with First Nations people. His stories were many and so very interesting … yet I can not remember most of them now. When he was ill, I so much wanted him to repeat those stories again so that I could write them down, but at the time it felt morbid to me to acknowledge his pending death. Now that I am older I realize that he would have loved to tell me his experiences one more time and to know that I was truly interested in them. Now they are lost in time … that is my biggest regret and I encourage anyone to take the time and interest to do what I did not.
