Cost of living in Alberta
4/15/2009 at 7:39 PM
I was reading on another thread that people think that the cost of living in Alberta is sooo much higher than Manitoba. This is sooo not true...I am currently living in Edmonton, and moving back to Mb at the end of the month, but not because its too expensive. I am paying just over 1000 a month for a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom 1000sq ft apartment. Now, looking on ebrandon here for an apartment..... to get a 2 bedroom i would be paying around $850 a month. AND making half the amount of money working in Brandon. Groceries aren't extremely over priced out here either!! There is only one tax!! So in the end you are paying less for your groceries and other purchases that you may make. Not to mention that doing things such as housecleaning for a job, pays almost double as to what it does/did in Brandon. I love Brandon, was born and raised there. But i am just sick of hearing everyone say that "Alberta is too expensive to live" when it is just quite the opposite! It is actually VERY affordable!
