OK so I have been out of the work force for almost 2 years now after having my daughter. I would have returned after the one year maternity leave period however my daughter has been in and out of surgery and it was not the right time for me to be going back to work. I have been applying for various positions around Brandon (so we can now move home) and around the Winnipeg/Steinbach area (where we live now) but have had absolutely no luck in finding a job.  
 
My question is... Why can't I get hired? I have gone over my resume with a fine tooth comb, and had others look it over and there is nothing wrong with it. I used be able to get a job no problem! I am personable, a fast learner, and very driven. I'm starting to wonder if it is because employers see the lag since my last job and that's why I can't even get an interview?  
Does anyone have any ideas or advise?
