So my old top-loading washing machine, purchased in 1992, has finally gone belly up...and I'm in the market for a new one. I'd like to try one of the new-fangled front loaders, but the range of options and details is making my eyes bug out.  
 
So I set out to do a bit of research, and ye gads, the amount of information available online is simply too much to handle. What worries me is that many people who are purchasing front-loaders are complaining mostly of mold and mildew build up, which in turn makes their clothes smell horrible. Reliability issues...leaking issues...it's enough to make me cry. For every satisfied customer there seems to be another five who hate their new washers.  
 
I guess I could go out and buy the Consumer Reports manual ...  
 
Anyone who has a front loader washing machine, please post your opinions on your brand! Breakdowns? Leakage? Mold/mildew troubles! Let me know, please.  
 
Just for additional info...I have 3 kids, plus hubby and myself to wash for, so we do have a fair amount of laundry. Heavy duty all the way, baby!
