to work or not to work? that is the question!

I know a retired woman who is quite well off financially due to excellent financial planning throughout her working life and a great retirement pension plan from the company she worked for. Her husband has a very good pension as well and they both live quite comfortably, have a nice home, dress well and take vacations to far away places once a year. To say the least they have done their retirement plan well and should be proud of this accomplishment. However, here is where I have an issue, she works in an upscale clothing store because she says she’s bored and wants something to do. I recommended that she do some volunteer work instead because there are a lot of places that are in dire need of volunteers and she just shrugged it off. To me, she is taking a job from someone who might really need it or it’s like taking the food out of someone’s mouth. I just don’t understand how she can be so selfish and greedy. I myself couldn’t do that. It’s obvious she was the most qualified or she wouldn’t have been hired, but my point is that I feel she shouldn’t be taking a job when there are so many others that need it more than she does.
Thoughts? Opinions?
