The “Brandon’s Big One” experience -

Wow what a weekend – it was a whole new experience for me and I just thought I would report a little bit about what it was like. While showing off my wares was basically the name of the game I took the most enjoyment from meeting other eBrandoners ... what a great bunch of people. I must say that I did not meet as many as I would have like to, but those who I did, shared many great stories, interests, ideas and laughs. I also met people I had gone to school with, or brothers and sisters of people I grew up with, and who I have not seen in 35 years ... this was a very positive experience. I met other eBrandon crafters (and as I mentioned before I am so sorry that I was not able to get to see your booths – next year I will make sure to arrive earlier so I can do so). I would certainly encourage any crafters out there to maybe create a little band of crafting friends and rent a booth as I think in most instances it is very worthwhile.
Posting a thread about how to attract attention to a booth proved to be very helpful. At one end of my table “His Majesty” the large painted bison skull sat greeting many onlookers, while at the other end was my raffle bucket. This probably proved to be the greatest attraction as it drew more people to the table, pointing to the wreath on the back curtain drew their attention to the other wreaths and then back to the table. The winner of the wreath was Alli Hanke of Brandon (yes, I asked her permission to post her name) and I was able to deliver it after the sale was over. An eBrandoner I met for the first time at the sale drew the ticket at the end of closing. I had a DVD running of my interview with Karen Chrest on the CKX Noon Show and of course received many comments about how disappointing it was to lose the station (oh, and by the way, I purchased that DVD from CKX so it was not swiped from online). Karen – it was great seeing you again and I forgot to mention that I got an email back from Henry. The second famous person to visit my booth of course was Adam of eBrandon fame ... always a great person to chat with. And I better not forget about the "Chip Truck Man" who I found out is a brother to my neighbour - he very quietly delivered a bucket a fries to my table before dissappearing off into the crowds!!! Thanks so much, and I must say those fries didn't last long enough to draw the crowds, lol.
I have already spoken to Karen Keilback about renting the same booth for next year and already I am planning projects and displays. If I can get in gear after Christmas and things go as planned I hope that the sequel to NEW BEGINNINGS will be in order and Brandon’s Big One might be the first place it is available (ok, I know, I am dreaming again!!! Lol). As part proceeds are being donated to The Canadian Cancer Society it is very appealing to me as both of my and my husband’s parents have been affected by the disease.
As always I continue to look forward to meeting and reading other eBrandoners. As I met so many people over the last weekend I was wondering if those I met could post either here or send me a PM as I do not want to misplace even a single one of you

. And for those of you who I was not able to meet ... I am sure that it will happen in our future.
