Words of Advice

I don't want to offend anybody and it is my intention not to but I wanted to say something. Hopefully, we are all mature enough to understand what it is that I am saying.
I know a lot of people are concerned about the welfare of both the two legged and four legged "people" that we encounter on a daily basis.
Because we have hearts, we don't want to see them suffer in any way. Because we have brains, we don't want to see them abuse the services that are in place to help them through tough times.
One thing we should keep in mind is this: what people choose to do with/in their lives is none of our business unless it directly affects us. The exception here is: if it affects someone innocent like children, then our concern can be justified.
We can complain and tattle on people for the most stupid things that we shouldn't but what does that do? Some people just don't care what others think. Everyone lives their lives the way they choose to. Nothing can change their minds.
We can continue to blame the parents but we do the best we can with what we've got. But once that child becomes a legal adult, only that child's parents should be the ones who pass judgment on them. We don't know the full story on what goes on in their lives. Half the time, only part of the story is told anyways.
Yes, some people's views on the world do impact us in some way but it's up to us to take the higher road and just let it go.
My Mom gave me some great words of wisdom on how to deal with life's little surprises: Ask yourself this - is this going to affect me in a week from now? Will it affect my life negatively if I just let it go? Chances are, it won't.
Because of her advice, I have been able to live my life with the smallest amount of negativity, even with everything that is going on in the world.
Life is short. I want to enjoy it as much as I can with those that I love. I don't want to "grow up" to be an old, bitter person who puts my two-cents in everyone else's business. I've got too much to do yet.
So, I apologize if I have offended you. It was not my intention to do so. I just wanted people to realize that life goes on and the choices we make determine our own happiness. (I know there will be some who bring up random violence, gangs, drugs, etc. This affects us all and yes, I understand this.)
Finally, just be happy. Live your life to the fullest. Love with all of your heart. Because in the end, that is all that matters.
