I sent a registered letter to the USA in Aug 2009. To make a long story short it was not recieved. On Thurs this week I recieved a cheque from Canada Post for the loss, then on Fri I recieved a letter from them. After an extensive search for the missing letter no one can find it. The last sentence gets me, " Should the item claimed be subsequently located by Canada Post, you will be asked to reimburse the amount paid." So I sit here wondering if Canada Post finds this letter say 5 or 10 years down the way, why should I pay them back? This letter was sent registered because it was time senstive and needed to be there at a certain time. What are your thoughts? I will be phoning Canada Post with some questions.
