American politics often read like the tabloids. I remember the interviews when the allegations first surfaced that he was involved in an affair while he was running for president. He denied it strongly. Then he began to say he did have an affair, but Quinn, the little girl who is now almost 2, was not, and could not be his. A photo surfaced of him holding the baby and he said he didnt know what that picture was. I think that is when many people started rolling their eyes.  
 
He has admitted this now, and has stated that he will support this child, and hopes she will forgive him when she is old enough to understand for denying her, because his assistant is coming out with a book ( of coarse!) the beginning of february. Among other things the book is supposed to reveal that John Edwards offerd to care for the assistants needs in exchange for him to claim he was the father of the child. I can only imagine if John Edwards was elected and this came out, the turmoil in american politics it would have caused.  
 
One has to feel pain for his wife, who has stayed so strong. She had a powerful interview with Oprah about this. Her husband has brought so much attention, and embarassment, she is an amazing woman.  
 
Why does it seem american politics are so full of scandal? How would all these people move on? Will this end any hope of public support for him? Or now that he has admitted it, can he rebuild and people forgive and forget?
