Why does the media capitalize on how winners had just spent their last $2 on a ticket and then go on to win millions? I find this a little hypocritical when they do a segment on poverty one day and stories such as this, the next day.
How many people use their last dollars, above all other needs, to buy into a microscopic chance at winning millions? It trades the well-being of many for the chance at being "the one". And stories that publicize how some go from rags to riches could actually be contributing to the collective issues such as poverty and addictions.
Alright, rant over.
