Canada vs. US School Year

The days are longer and it's finally starting to feel like summer is on its way!
It got me thinking about "summer holidays" and wishing that the kids would be done school at the end of this month, rather than at the end of June.
In the US, their school year is done at the end of May to take advantage of daylight savings time.
If you had a choice, which would you rather:
September - June School Year
or
August - May School Year
