Business competition

I run a small business in Brandon and I have put everything into it. I love my job and I know that business's have competition, but how does one stay confident when customers pick other places to go. I take it personally when someone doesn't come to me and I don't know how other's handle it. I'm sure Burger King doesn't get upset when someone eats at McDonald's..any advice?
