Golf - no power carts but caddies
7/29/2010 at 2:44 PM
Here is what I think that might spark an interest.
1. Have a day a week allocated where power carts are not allowed (any course).
2. On this day, there are caddies available. These caddies are kids that wants to learn the game of golf or have extra pocket money. Not too young of course. Maybe between the age of 10 and 15.
3. You pay them a fix amount of money. Say $10 for sure, but you're allow to give tips (not golf tips, you cheapo :-) if you wish. These kids will be informed not to expect more and agree to the amount.
On this day, everyone will be reminded at the first tee about slow play and the etiquette of golf. It'll make the pace of play more consistent. Everyone will be happy, they learn the rules of golf (mostly etiquette) and you're helping out kids.
For an 18 hole golf course, younger kids might have trouble walking all 18 holes carrying bag, so allocate those younger ones with golfers that uses push/pull carts.
