everyone has a crazy neighbour right??

ok I have an issue.. I could use some advice.... when we moved to this neighbourhood we were advised by most of the neighbours about a "crazy neighbour" that no one could get along with. It seemed everyone had some sort of issue with this guy. I advised everyone that I was there to get along with my neighbours and not to fight or take sides... as it turned out I knew "Crazy neighbour" from years gone by... not well but I knew him... things seemed to be ok.. after a couple years he offered to cut my grass. I was out of town and it was longer than his liking.. not long by any other standards.. just longer than his.. I said ok thanks Steve... very nice thought. I thought I could repay his kindness by perhaps blowing his snow in the winter. So this cutting continued and it seems he cuts it whenever he sees fit and cuts it very short.. I have asked him now a couple times to kindly leave my lawn alone as I am quite capable of cutting it myself also have a 15yo boy who likes to do it.. Here is where the problem comes in... on one side of our yard we have a mail box.... like a community one. so what he started doing is cutting only 1/2 my lawn... where the mail box is and about 15 or so feet behind it... really all it does is make my lawn look goofy and uneven... when approached about this and again asked politely to please not cut it he said he had permission from Canada Post.. ok so we called Canada Post.... spoke to the person Steve had spoken to and got the real story... it seems Steve had told Canada Post that the grass was weedy, long and unsightly.. also that the mailbox had graffiti all over it. this is just not the case.. so the gentleman from Canada post actually drove past the mailbox in question, checked the grass and condition of the mail box.He reported to us that the grass was not long, weedy or unsightly and there was NO graffiti on the mailbox. he assured us that he did not give Steve permission to cut this and simply advised Steve that it was the responsibility of the home owner where the box is located to cut the grass around the box just as the rules apply to city curbs.. so now.... Steve still cuts around the mail box and one strip down the front of my yard... He doesn't work.... he's on some kind of permanent psychological leave so he always cuts it when we are all away for the day... e-brandoners quite often have some great input for different situations.. so I am appealing to you all for a possible solution to this... I have thought about knocking on his door dragging him out and kicking him in the teeth.. that was 20 years ago... I now have children want to set a good example and dont want to get in trouble... Thank you in advance for all your thoughts...
