K so I know this thread has been gone over at least a couple times. But the thing that I have to wonder about regarding landlords is...
I have been phoning around to various places now for the last 3 weeks to a month looking for something suitable (safe, clean, and comfortable) for rent. I know that the housing market in Brandon is leaning more towards the high side then the medium or low side when it comes to the cost of rentals.
I get that landlords have certain costs. What I dont get is how every single place we have looked at they (the landlord) goes on about the high cost of the rent and how they are worried about the renters being able to "afford" it. :S K so if you know that the rent is basically "unaffordable" why arent they doing something about it???
Like I said, I get that they have costs. But some of the houses we have looked at are running at over a grande a month, and you KNOW that they bought the place 20 years ago and have hardly put any work into it in that amount of time... Kinda makes me shake my head.... concerned about not getting thier money, because the rent is so high... but not lowering it to something affordable and SUITABLE to the condition of the house.
Anyway, thats my rant for the day.. carrying on
