I must be getting Old
11/12/2010 at 7:46 PM
I am 54 years old...retired in may after 30 years working in the Gov't of Mb penal system.
After 4 months at home the honey do list never got any smaller and I found sleeping in my chair in the afternoons was too much.
Got a job offer which I thought was too good to be true...part time work, reasonable wages, and hours flexable enough to die for (work when you want, will adjust to your life style take time off when you want etc etc.
Well since I started I have brought with me my work ethics, never leave unless you tell the boss you are leaving, never leave the boss hanging, if he's busy help out, help all the other employees if they are busy etc. No I in team is how I work.
I average 8 and 1/2 hrs to 9 hours a day, 5 days a week.
I only put in an OT slip if I work 8&1/2 hours or more.
I must be doing a good job now, cause the boss gave me a key and the code to the alarm to lock up at nights after he leaves to go golfing.
7 other employees now come to me for advice now as well.
Here is my delema, I now come home so exhausted that after eating I sit in my chair and go right to sleep, get up and go to bed only to wake up at 4 or 5 am every day.
I am now beginning to wonder if I can keep up this pace after all I was only hired for PT work...
Don't get me wrong I absolutely love what I am doing...the boss is good to work for and the employees are great as well...
what to do...I think I am geting into a rut....
