Mall cop orders Service Dog "OUT OF THE MALL"

One of Brandon's finest... (Mall Cops) confronted my wife in the mall today and told her to "get your dog out of here". My wife explained that it was a Service Animal, pointed to the dogs bright red vest covered in patches indicating the same and also the identification tags to prove such. His response was priceless. "Your not blind, take the dog out of the mall". Unfortunatly for him, he did it in front of dozens of Christmas shoppers, most of whom sucked the air out of the building with disbelief that he actually made the statement out loud.
It was obvious he was oblivious to the law in Manitoba as well as the fact that the mall advertises on every door in the building that Service Animals are permitted.
We are the first to admit that not everyone is well versed in the rules and laws for Service Animals. However, embarrasing my wife in front of my children and onlookers, being smug, arrogant and frankly making a fool of himself is not the way to do it.
This is the second time an employee of a store has ordered my wife out of the store with the dog and my 9 year old son.
If you are a owner of a store in Brandon, train your employees on the laws of Service Animals and for goodness sakes, teach them manners that they don't make a scene in front of other customers when talking to the owner of the animal.
