Compulsive Complainers?

Have you ever been out with someone that wouldn't stop complaining? At restaurants, for example, nothing's ever good enough like, butter's too cold, portions not big enough or too big, veggies suck, breads too dry, too well done, or not done enough. To noisy, etc, etc, etc. Not looking at the 90 per cent that was right, just concentrating on the 10 per cent that was wrong.
Or know someone that thinks life sucks and they're the only one that has that type of life. Always feeling sick, feeling sorry for themselves, claiming to have bad luck or no luck at all, just never happy? Not willing to change to try to better their situation? They blame everyone else for their life but themself.
Restaurants, the service industry, and trusting people in general deal with these people daily. Are these complainers just looking for a discount? Free meal? Free product? Attention? Do they just wake up, head out with a personal motive to just destroy someone else’s day or evening? Are they just compulsive complainers?
I do realize that some customers have legitimate complaints, I don't believe all is perfect, but there are many that complain to get discounts, free meals, free products and or free service and thus the reason for this discussion.
Have you had an experience with someone that was just looking for a freebee? I'm sure we all have.
Just a topic for discussion.
