I was mining in cullaton lake NWT. We were gold mining. Well after a blast I was crushed and pinned down by a few big rocks. Now I was trained in mine rescue so I knew what was happing. The guys were scared to take off these big boulders off me. I knew why too. They could have been keeping me alive. If the pressure was taken off I could of died from internal injuries. I mean here I was in my early 20`s thinking I was a gonner. Anyway mine rescue stayed by my side untill a doctor could be flown in. thankgod for my buddies back then. they really keep my spirts and hopes alive. I knew though I was going to die. The doctor arives gives me a shot of something for pain. Now comes the moment of truth they were gonna take the rocks off me. I could see the look in my freinds faces that I was gonna die. I said I prayer and was ready to meet my maker. they started lifting the boulders off me and I passed out. I woke upin a hospital without a spleen and alot of internal brusing. I don`t remeber a thing after they started taking those rocks off. I guess there was some good that came out of it. I have faced death and know how I reacted, I`m not afraid to die anymore. I take alot of peace from that moment now and have learned to live one day at a time. All of us never know when our "precious" time on earth is.
