News media getting more mileage out of the racism issue

Has anyone been following this Don Imus story? He described a girls university basketball team as a quote, "bunch of nappy headed hoes."
He's since been suspended for 2 weeks by MSNBC. Now there's a movement developing that is calling for his dismisal.
My question is, would the powers that be arrive at the same result if Imus was on satellite radio?
