Looking for Laptop

I need to buy another laptop. I don`t want to buy an cheap Acer but I don`t want to spen alot of money either. I will be buying at future shop. here is what I need the laptop for.
e-mails, online poker, watching tv and movies, just surfing the net. I`m not a gamer but I do watch alot of TV online like, NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox. I run a IP changer to access these sites. So how much should I be spending and what type of brand name is a good one
