I think there should be more turning lights in the city. For me I feel that there should be turning lights at 26th and vic as well as 1st and richmond. Those roads are high traffic areas and I feel could do with truning lights. where do you think a good place to have turning lights would be???

I agree with both of these locations very much needing turning arrows, but there is usually a traffic study that needs to be done first.  
 
Keep in mind that both 26t and Vic and 1st and Richmond intersections fall under the Provincial Department of Highways, so if one wanted to lobby for any changes, you'll have to concentrate on the Provincial SpeNDP party for any action. Drew Caldwell - local MLA.

On another request, I would like to see traffic lights at 10th and Park. I think there was a study done a couple or more years ago and there may have not been the demand for traffic lights. Park Avenue I think, falls under the City of Brandon, but I'm not sure on that.

and the left turn signals could be on longer to let more then one or two cars thru

Turning signals have been set way too short at 18th and Vic since they had Vic closed for construction ages ago.  
 
Lights in general are horribly timed around Brandon.

I totally agree..but....apparently they did a "survey " about 3 year sago & said there was ten ugh traffic. .I tend to disagreed with the city council cilantro at the time.

" 10th Street and Park already have lights. 13th and Park are supposed to be getting lights this year sometime. "

I did mean to refer to 13th and Park.

I also hate the way the lights are timed from 10th to 6th on Vic.

1st and Mctavish needs arrows to the Hospital as that intersection is quite busy now.  
1st and Victoria needs more than 10 flashes of the arrow. Heading South down 1st in the mornings, the turn lane to go East is backed up for two blocks sometimes.

Sure. Let's have more turning lights so people can turn on the arrow when its orange knowing very well they will not complete the turn before the turning light is off. Then watch the person going the other direction who just got the green light nail the bugger who is turning left who is in the road. This is likely the cause of most of the accidents at 18th. and Vic. and 34th St. and Vic. I'm in favor of people getting ticketed for not completing the left turn on a turning light. Sorry, I'm not buying into it until people figure out what the turning light is there for.  
 
I will agree about the intersection of 6th St. and Richmond doesn't work well if you are on 6th st.  
 
Speaking of traffic signs, I'm all in favor of a 4 way stop at 6th st. and Louise Ave and at 6th st and Lorne Ave. This would slow down traffic naturally instead of having the 30 km per hour school zone by New Era.

Only a week left until the speed limits increase around the schools and the cash cow for city police ends for a couple of months. You can watch and see if traffic flows better

Since the Victoria avenue re do last year it has been a issue. The line big change was the light change on ninth. This seem to be a bottle neck.  
 
It is out of sync more that the average out of sync intersection.

You are right Doug. The lights at 9th & 10th screw up the whole thing. Totally out of  
sync

I agree the lights are horrible in Brandon.Turning lights to short!Also they are worse on 18th since the city has someone change them.Coming from the south its go/stop/go/stop/go. Whomever got paid for that job got well overpaid.Horrible!!!! I thought our Mayor said they were hiring someone to fix these problems. I think the lights were better before.
