We are thinking about going to the peace garden tomorrow with our two kids. I have looked on the travel Manitoba website, the Boissevain community website and the official peace garden website. Not one of these seems to list an admission cost. Wondering if anyone has been there fairly recently that might be able to answer that one for me?  
 
Also, if anyone without a passport has gone there, did you have any issues coming back? Not one of the four of us has a passport and I'm hoping we will be fine with our birth certificates. My husband and I also have our licenses for ID but my kids are young and have no picture ID.  
 
We went approx. 6 years ago when our first was still a baby and I don't remember us having any issues but I'm not sure if we just lucked out.  
 
Edited to add: Ok, I found the admission info when I looked at the site again (apparently a little too sleepy, LOL). I am still curious though about the passport thing. I know it technically isn't required, I just want to know if it will make getting back more difficult.

The entrance is on the Manitoba side, so you will not have any problem at all.

Didn't have any problems coming back with no passport. Make sure to have your drivers license though!

I organize an annual event with Brandon University. We take students to the International Peace Gardens to play dodgeball against Minot State and enjoy a BBQ together afterwards. It is a great time. We do not need to bring our passports. We do bring ID just in case, but don't need passports. Have fun!!

I was recently at the Peace Gardens for the 4 day Adult Session of the Music Camp. You don't need a passport or enhance drivers license if you head straight back to Canada. Have your drivers license, a copy of your birth certificate and your vehicle registration on you. Having said that, it probably makes the crossing back to Canada smoother if you have a passport or enhanced drivers license. There is construction on Highway 10 just north of the Peace Gardens to roughly the intersection of Highway 3 so give yourself extra time.

We went this summer to the peace gardens. We didn't think we needed our passports and when returning the man at the border told us that we should've brought them because we crossed the border. He said next time, bring your passports.
