One is a temporary seasonal camper, and the other is built and designed for all year round permanent living.

not much different then the 70's hippy living in a motorhome except there can be better designed and built, nothing wrong with it imo but pretty much the same thing, especially if its built on a trailer to get around the building codes...not sure why the codes wont allow a tiny house, strange imo but ....

it has more to do with property taxes than building code. Since the assessed value is what the tax is based on, can't get much property tax off something that's worth only $50,000 as an example. Most of these homes are designed to be off grid, and simple plumbing. Basically a small basic cabin at the lake.

you might be right but i wonder how they can say they want affordable housing yet also mandate houses have to be bigger then 850 sf, now i wouldnt want to live in anything smaller for my family, last house was 900sf which was enough, but plenty of people would, and if that is what you want i dont see and issue, many apartments are smaller so why not your own house?
