Looking at getting my first tattoo here in Brandon. It's nothing big, something simple and small like a quote.  
Anyways, just wondering what my fellow Brandonites think about our tattoo shops? Like reviews, what shop/tattoo artist you would recommend.

I highly recommend either Ward or Jax at Ward's on Victoria Avenue. They both do fantastic work.

I have tattoos from both Lee and Ward and they're great! I will say that I have some more recent pieces from the newer staff at Warlock and I've had problems with them healing correctly (despite proper care) and even more problems convincing the artist that they needed touchups after the initial session. In the end the touchups look great and healed well, but it left a sore taste in my mouth. Having to go to such lengths to get the artist to stand by their work isn't really a fantastic selling point.

If you're getting a quote with script I highly recommend Jeremy from warlocks! His script is really good!

Choosing an Artist is rated as highly as choosing a Dentist or Doctor....YOU have to like them! You want to sit down and voice what you want, without that artist changing your mind about the piece, just potentially offering suggestions. I'd suggest checking out each shop located in Brandon. Things to look for...EVERY shop should have their credentials and Manitoba by-laws certifications clearly posted in regards to meeting autoclave/sterilization requirements, etc. The establishment should have footwear removed at the door. A clean and respectful place! YOU have to feel 'at home' where you plan to sit for that tattoo (and potentially return) for touch ups. Ask questions, nothing is deemed 'stupid' if it's your first experience! Signs posted "If you are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, you will not be served" is always a positive note for a Tattoo Shop! To offer my own suggestion on where to go, ADAM'S BODY ART on 18th would be my ONLY offer! Plenty of talent resides in one building to have a multitude of genres covered, fabulous customer service, gift cards available....THEY TOTALLY ROCK!! Best of Luck...

Warlock, Steve does fantastic script, and Troy is awesome, great shop atmosphere, very good professionalism, gives great advice to what will work best for you, and gentle, I fell asleep during two 5 hour sittings.

Is the only place I will go.

Only person that has tattooed me and I have 7. He is a wonderful guy! I can tell him what I want, then he draws it up and it's even better than I pictured it. Warlock is awesome and Troy is very talented and the professionalism of the new owners is unprecedented, amazing people. They are now offering laser tattoo removal as well, which is awesome for Brandon and surrounding areas.
