I'm not sure about community centres but have you considered PlayTime? They have rooms you can rent out for birthdays, I'm just not sure the cost.

Some of the centres list their prices on the city website, if you click on the individual centres on the list. Otherwise you'll need to call the contact person listed.

We've paid all the way from $15/hr to $50/hr depending on the time of day/date and the centre. Some will depend if you're in the catchment or not.

have hospitality or meeting rooms that might work for you depending on number of people, etc. I know the Days Inn and Lakeview Inn and Suites used to have such rooms. Don't know what their costs would be like compared to community centres (whose rates fluctuate as per Abbysmum). Hope you find something suitable for your daughter's birthday party - good luck!

Just went through this and learned to book in advance! Here are a few places I learned of:  
-Vic Inn, Royal Oak - around $300 depending on numbers and if you're ordering food from them or not  
-trails west - around $200  
-community centers up to $100 but they were ALL booked solid for the dates we wanted  
-thunderbird bowl has a room you can rent (and can not bowl, just play at Play Planet and do cake etc). $150ish for the rental and $150ish for food.  
-YMCA has a room upstairs for food/cake. You get to either swim or use the blow up house in the gym (pick one). It's $150 I believe. Or $120?  
-Sportsplex has a room as well, you pay $25 and then $2 per guest swimming
