I was noticing all the fluff flying around everywhere in Brandon, especially by the bus terminal. Did a pillow factory explode in Brandon or something recently?

I believe it's the cattails going into their seeding stage. Just like the dandelions fluff up and take to the air, so do the cattails at this time of year. It was like driving through a snowstorm along some of the marshes this weekend up at the park. That's probably what we're seeing tonight.  
 
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Like snow blowing past my window in town this afternoin. Tonight I see here at home on the farm everything is filled with the fuzzy white stuff

Maybe I just haven’t been paying enough attention but can’t say I remember seeing that amount of that particular kind of white stuff falling for that long this time of the year.

Could be poplar trees too, they release quite a few seeds this time of year that look like white fuzz or fluff

I'm pretty sure poplar trees release their fluffy seeds in the later part of June. They should long be finished by now.

I've never seen as much seed from cattails floatingw around and covering the ground in my complete life. I guess, like many other plants this year, there were great growing conditions for the cattails. In many areas the number of plants have increased each year for the past few years, and because the plant is a perennial it has flourished. A few days ago I thought it was frost on the roof of an old barn first thing in the morning, but realized in the afternoon, that the seeds had stuck to the old shingles in tremedous numbers. Let's just hope that we don't have a wet spring and summer next year or there will be cattails growing everywhere.

Wonder is there is an old wives tale about cat tail seeds.  
I know lots of acorns means a horrible winter with tons of snow.... like last year.  
Maybe it means it’ll be warm and no snow!!! Hahaha
