Hi. My soon-to-be-ex husband and I have decided to split on ok terms . We are in agreement about everything , like house, $, etc, there are no kids involved either. I was just wondering if any of you have any recommendations for a lawyer that would just do the legal document filing and what not, without trying to complicate things. Talking to some ppl, I've heard that this is a lot easier said than actually done.  
Any recommendations, tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks everyone!!

If both your ex and you have split everything and agree totally and do not leave anything out. You can go to the court house on 11th and file for divorce. You have to be separted for 1 year and this means not living in different parts of the house. It is a believe a 3 part process. The staff at the court will explain everything to you. Just remember, if you or ex spouse forget to sign or add something the process will be delayed. It will take over a year to finalize your divorce because certain parts of the process have timelines and it will also depend on the judge on how fast they get to the paperwork. This way will cost around $400.00 or so. The cost is split of course so each person is paying approx. $200.00. The price may have gone up. Still cheaper than a lawyer but the right way to go. I suggest to go to the court house if everything is split up and no spousal support is required. You can go to province of manitoba website and search divorce to find out more information.

Agree with yosamiti. Just go to the court house and fill out all of the necessary paperwork. You can actually print divorce documents out from the mb courts website as well and get them all filled out before you get there.  
This will save you any lawyer fee's completely. Just have to pay the fee at the court house.

Thank you so much everyone! Keep the tips coming! I really appreciate it. It's frustrating when we want to keep things simple, but that just seems impossible. Especially having to wait a year , & not really having much $ to begin with. You guys have given me a bit of hope here.

Untie the knot - they are recognized across the country with all the courts and will prepare the documents for you and you will never have to step into the courthouse. If it's pretty cut and dry I believe the price is around $299 Highly recommended !!!!
