Anyone want to share their favorite family recipe - the one that your family always asks for. I know there are tons on the internet, but I'd like to make one that is tried and true.

I know that might be not what you wanted to hear ...but honestly the recipe on the bag is really good!

Yup, the recipe on the bag of the semi sweet chipit's is the only one I use...soooo good.

The one on the back of the bag is foolproof and if you add almond extract instead of vanilla, it’s amazing

This is the best chocolate chip recipe!!  
Given to me by a friend after she sent cookies and I tried it and its excellent, they don't lose shape and are a nice crisp following baking! Please let me know if you try it and what you think.  
 
1/2 cup butter  
1/4 cup white sugar  
1/2 cup brown sugar  
1 egg  
1 tsp vanilla  
1 cup flour  
1/2 tsp baking soda  
1/2 tsp salt  
1 cup choc chips (or less)  
Cream butter with sugars. Add egg and vanilla. Beat til smooth. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by tsp on uncreased cookie sheet. Press with fork. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350.
