Is there a paint that can be successfully used over packing tape or masking tape?

Maybe Fusion Mineral Paint? They make an adhesive coat that can be painted over laminate and glass, then the paint over top of that. Maybe it would work over tape?

I agree with Fusion Mineral Paint! LOVE that stuff! As curlysister said they have a product you use under the paint for added adhesion. Minimal prep and great coverage. I did my kitchen cupboards in it! You can buy online from Rossburn's Happy Little Paint Shop, Faveri Furniture in Winnipeg, Boissevain and Virden (forget the store's names). Unsure if there is anything more local. It's wonderful stuff!

Could colored sharpie be used on the white to color it and not smear? This way, it could save me a little rather than buying multiple colors. The project is quite small too...9 small 3D cardboard snowbirds made by a young artist.  
 
What is the price, roughly? Does it come in smaller quantities?  
 
I was directed to Attic Flower & Gifts in Virden through the Mineral Fushion website. That would be my closest place to try.  
 
It sounds very good. No VOC is important as it will be a child using it indoors. I couldn't find any through the AF&G website. Hopefully they have some!
